Darshan Hiranandani – What are the prospects of the MoU signed between the Tamil Nadu Government and Greenbase?

Greenbase has achieved an important step forward with the signing of an MoU with the Tamil Nadu government. This agreement has also impelled Greenbase to invest an extra INR 500 crore in developing its commercial and logistics park. By directly and indirectly producing thousands of jobs in the warehousing industry, this calculated move is anticipated to have a cascading effect and create a multiplier effect. Greenbase will have invested about INR 1200 crores in its Chennai operations thanks to this significant investment. 

Although Darshan Hiranandani, Chairman and Managing Director for Greenbase Industrial and Logistics Park emphasizes the positive outlook. He also highlights the opportunity for growth in the logistics sector in India with this opportunity. The primary cause of this confidence is the enormous multi-modal infrastructure projects that are still in progress, which are expected to improve last-mile connectivity and reduce lead times in the supply chain. 

Geopolitical realignments and a renewed emphasis on Made in India are expected to fuel a spike in demand for industrial and logistics parks across the nation. The government’s assistance and growth-enabling rules are expected to bring the Prime Minister’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat to life in the logistics sector. 

Darshan Hiranandani – Greenbase has already acquired a sizable land bank encompassing 110 acres in the Chennai-Oragadam area. Notably, development has been completed for 2 million sq. ft, with prominent companies in the renewable energy, automotive, electronics, and engineering sectors already initiating their operations. This established presence positions Greenbase as a key player in the region, contributing to economic growth and fostering industrial development. The combined impact of the MoU and existing infrastructure positions Greenbase for sustained success and a pivotal role in the growth of the Chennai-Oragadam industrial landscape.
